Emil Dorynek’s non-profit career encompasses work on the ground and in-the-field in 20 countries ranging from indigenous seminars in Guyana to high-level presentations in Europe and the United States. From engaging Amerindian tribal chiefs on the banks of the Amazon’s Essequibo River to meeting 10 heads of state from the White House to the Kremlin. His professional engagements include directorships with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International, EastWest Institute, and Aitken Neuroscience. He has consulted for the Guggenheim Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, LEAD International, the Baltic Initiative, The Policy Education Centre on Assistance to Transition – Warsaw (PECAT), and as Consultant of Record with the United Nations.
At the forefront of new concepts for philanthropic giving and fund-raising methods, he was exposed to “thought leaders” from Accenture, Stanford University, Edventure, and Mckinsey. He worked with and led board level management committees chaired by corporate leaders of Siemens, PepsiCo, Neuberger Berman, Microsoft and the Federal Reserve Bank. He worked closely with leading philanthropists, board members, administration and program managers to resonate themes by which to support capital campaigns and endowment funding. Together, formulating concepts of modern Institutional Advancement that stress information management’s impact on efficiency, relationship building, and knowledge creation – recognizing knowledge as a vital corporate asset to solicit funding.
He engages the entire organization through direct involvement, achieving a demonstrated track record of success in mentoring staff on best practices and overseeing mission-critical programs. He believes by engaging our core sense of civic responsibility, we bridge the divide of difference, building knowledge that brings meaning to humanity. Accordingly, he keenly focuses on promoting an organization culture of inclusion that defines and understands each employee as valued, their function ascritical to mission success, and where together they create a product of positive social value.
